Stormy Day Mysteries

By Angela Pepper 1. Death of a Dapper Snowman - 11/16/2019 2. Death of a Crafty Knitter - 9/20/2019 3. Death of a Batty Genius - 6/28/2020 4. Death of a Modern King - 6/27/2020 5. Death of a Double Dipper - not yet Set in Misty Falls, OR.  So I chose the books because of the title and then laughed so hard at some of the things that happened in the books. One book there are some fantastic quotes that I saved to www.goodreads.com and you can find there.  Stormy has moved back home to take care of her father, a retired police officer with a distinct Irish brogue. She buys a tourist business that sells knick-knacks and some property where she rents the property to others who need places to live. When a man is murdered and she finds him, she begins to work to find out who murdered him and uses her very good attention to detail to help her find out the truth. She also calls one officer Dimples and the other Tony Baloney. Then there is a female officer whose name is Wiggles.

She and her cousin work well together to make their business a continued success.  I enjoy these stories and enjoy the fun puns that are thrown around and...

The Graves of the Guilty

by Ellery Adams  Hope Street Church Mysteries #3 Original Title: "The Way of the Guilty" by Jennifer Stanley through St. Martin's Press She re-wrote them, changed the titles, and put them under her name.  Cooper is still attending church and Bible Study with her friends from Hope Street Church. They all gather around and help another friend deal with the loss of her hair and the treatment for cancer. While all this happens she also helps her sister find out who put a murdered man in the back of her sister's car. She also helps friends find their true passion and learns more about herself and how she feels about Nathan, while he finds out he truly feels about her.  I really enjoy these stories (the series) and am looking forward to the next book. I like the Bible Study that they are doing and will often look up those verses and mark them in my Bible. I like the information I learn along the way as well.  Just an FYI, if you read something and you aren't sure that i...

The Proverbs 31 Woman

God's Work In Progress A Knit and Crochet Bible Study Personal Devotional by Terry Ann Porter I have been trying to make more time for God. Just taking a few moments to be quiet and listen. I used to knit more than I do now, but then I just can't seem to be quiet as much as I would like. Just as I get quiet someone comes along and turns on a tv or asks me questions or just wants me to pay attention to them. In order to be quiet, I need to go to be very late or get up very early and usually at that time I become very tired and don't accomplish very much. I did enjoy this and I am hoping that when things get back to normal - not the new normal - I will have that time to sit and knit or crochet or even just read and reflect.  If you knit or crochet, there is a nice pattern at the end of the book to make and also an area that can be filled out for the devotional.
