The story starts with Amelia Peabody inheriting a large amount of money from her father after his death and her brothers trying to take the money from her through any means. When she tires of this she hires a woman to travel with her all over the world. When the woman falls ill in Italy, Amelia meets another woman and takes her on, leaving the first woman in the care of the hospital and doctors. When they get to Egypt they meet the Emerson brothers, both falling in love with a brother. Eventually marrying the brothers and starting families. Amelia and her husband only have one child - Ramses. The child grows up and marries a young woman that came into their family when they found her in Egypt. They too begin a family and the family grows.
I enjoy the stories because of the Egyptian mythology involved in the stories and the Archaeology processes for the time period.
